Saw this story online this morning, regarding the discovery of stem cells available in amniotic fluid. This is pretty exciting stuff for those who hold dear the sanctity of life. We can only hope that this will be another step away from the demands for embryonic stem cell research, which involves the destruction of human embryos.
If you want to read more about stem cell research from the point of view of medical doctors and bioethics professors who reject the use of embryonic stem cells, check out Do No Harm: The Coalition of Americans for Research Ethics. I have found their articles and resources helpful when studying this issue. This website was also a key resource for me when I gave a presentation in Sunday Bible Class a number of years ago on stem cell research.
