Dr. Harold Senkbeil at Messiah
No sermon posted today since we had a guest preacher. Dr. Harold Senkbeil preached this morning and spoke in our Bible class hour about his work with Doxology: The Lutheran Center for Spiritual Care and Counsel. Then, this afternoon and evening he gave a presentation entitled, "Equipped to Serve: A Leadership Retreat." It was a long day, but well worth it. And I was pleasantly surprised that on a Sunday in late August we had such a big group of intrepid folks who were willing to come out for seven hours. We had 50 people from 11 different congregations in the area. We also had a fantastic meal of BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, with meat donated from Sticky Fingers BBQ right across the street from the church.
