Gene Veith links to a news item about a "metal" mass in Finland. Click here to read. I have three comments.
1) Why is this news? Churches all over the place have been selling out for years, trying every gimmick under the sun (note: not the "Son") to bring the masses into the masses.
2) What's next? Bluegrass mass, jazz mass, folk mass, a Klingon version of the Bible for Star Trek fans...oh, wait, that's all been done before, too.
3) My wife has Finnish blood in her, and she would think this is atrocious. (However...and don't tell her I told you...she has a soft place in her heart for Def Leppard.)

Just wanted to say that I think "Bluegrass Mass" would be an outstanding name for a rock band.
